Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada, and is now American. There are more than 20 albums that have been released by her. Her music is categorized as folk, alternative and rock, but it also has hints of hip-hop and jazz. Ani diFranco was the first artist to launch her own record company in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Both her parents were both of Montreal descent. Ani diFranco composed and sang the song 32 Flavors. This track is on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. It was featured on the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variation of this song. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was revealed that she had planned a three-day seminar in an Louisiana plantation. It was postponed, but some (including the newspaper) failed to see it as a sign of regret. DiFranco released a new apology a few days later. She is known for her Little Folksinger music, but she has worked with several music genres, including Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani diFranco as well as Kristen Ford are together. Within 14 months, Ani DiFranco had already written her own songs. Her teens were spent singing them in pubs as well as coffee shops. DiFranco completed her studies at The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts high school at 16, and enrolled in the classes of Buffalo State College.
