She covered sports for some of the largest outlets in the country. She reported on basketball, football as well as Grand Slam Tennis for The Washington Post. In 2004, Nichols transferred to ESPN for a period of nine years during which she was awarded 2 Emmy Awards and appeared on some of the network's most watched programs, like SportsCenter and NFL Countdown. Nichols was employed by TNT as a journalist and reporter on NBA games including regular season, playoffs and All Star television broadcasts. Nichols has also been employed by TBS as a reporter for baseball and golf broadcasts. CBS broadcasted the Final Four. This was the second occasion in the 42-year history of TBS that a woman was nominated out of more than 200 nominations.
