Chamberlain is the only daughter of her parents. They divorced when she was only five years old. In a interview in 2018 with Forbes, Chamberlain said that while she was raised in the well-off, largely wealthy city of San Francisco, her family faced financial hardships during her youth. Chamberlain explained that the family was dependent on her father's work and they had to deal with "hard times" following his death.
